Valeriya ChernovaMy research interest lies in study of one of the least-studied confessional groups in Switzerland - Russian Orthodox Christian communities in Switzerland – their cultural and religious functions. The study of Russian Orthodox parishes and their functions will shed light on daily work of these religious institutions, their role in preserving of cultural identity of Russian-speaking immigrants in Switzerland, as well as will give understanding of worldview and religiosity of Russian Orthodox parish members.

  • 2000 - 2005 Press Secretary, in 2004-2005 Chairman of the Republican social association "Youth of the 21 century" (Minsk, Belarus)
  • 1990 - 1996 Art School (Vitebsk, Belarus), ballet, folk and historical dances, diploma in Choreography
